Great to see a few more riders than of late turning out to support the club at their trial at Cookes wood last Sunday.

The course was in great condition and it was nice to come back to the wood which has been rested to allow the ground cover to recover somewhat.

Before we get to the classes I would just like to mention a fantastic ride by Andrew Foot on the Intermediate course. He completed the 4 laps of 10 sections for a loss of just a single dab. That on its own was a great result being the best on the day however he was riding a std Gas Gas Pamperra trail bike fitted with trials tyres. Now THAT was impressive putting all the other riders on pukka trials machinery to shame. Strangely not one complaint about the course being too hard this time. Awesome ride.

So back to the classes and the Expert Twinshock class was a well fought battle all day between Louis Bennett, Fantic, and Steve Hitchcock on his Honda tlr. At the finish Louis held on to take the win with a loss of just 8 marks against Steveís 12 but both riders had a brilliant ride but there can only be one winner.

The Classic Expert route turned out to be much more trickier than intended but in the British Bikes Brian Cooper took the win on his Cub with a loss of 46 marks ahead of Colin Ridgeway, Cheetah, and Richard Turner, Cub, both tieing on 57 marks but Colin took second and Richard third on the tie break. Well ridden guys.

Another close fought battle was Classic Expert Twinshock between three riders namely Anthony Sprinks, Mick Attmore and Robert Mycock. They eventually finished in that order with Anthony on 30. Mick on 31 and Robert on 32 . How close was that ! Hats off to you all.

We come to the Intermediate classes and winner on the Intermediate British Bike route was local man Chris Boyett who is that local he rode his Cotton the mile from the village to the venue. He scored a very respectable 48 marks to win his class. Great seeing you Chris after your recent illness and hope to see you at a few more of our events in the future.

Intermediate Twinshock saw David Pattison have a great ride on his Bultaco to score 10 marks ahead of the two SWMís of Andy Slack on 18 and Gary Martin who took third with a score of 29 confessing he had a pretty poor ride littered with silly dabs. Still took third mate.

We have already mentioned Andy Foot and his scintillating ride aboard his Gas Gas Pamperra trail bike to win the Intermediate over 50ís on Moderns class but that ride for a single dab deserves a second mention. In second place was Mark Harvey on his Honda 4RT who lost 25 marks ahead of third placed Kevin Bottrill, Beta, on 28 marks. Nice to see a few more over 50ís on moderns taking part and we hope the class carries on growing.

Classic Intermediate British Bike saw the usual suspects Paul Beswick, James, Mick Sheldon, Bantam, joined by Andy Hulme on his immaculate Greeves. Nice to see Andy back riding with us. Paul just scraped the win with his score of 3 marks ahead of Mick Sheldon on 4 and Andy having a good ride to secure third on unlucky for some 13.

Classic Intermediate Twinshock was just as close with Bill Brown venturing across the boarder on his Fantic to lose just 2 marks and take the win ahead of Steve Blackburn on his Montesa on 4 marks and a tie break for 3rd place between Nick Colledge, Yamaha, and Margaret Carter, Majesty, both finishing on 5 marks lost. Nick just got it on the tie break so for once ladies didnít go first. Sorry Margaret but once you are fully recovered from your operation I am sure you will be back to the top step on the podium.

Clubman British Bike saw the only clean ride of the day with Richard Plume riding his Norman keep his feet firmly welded to the pegs all day. Close behind was Arthur Tomkinson, Greeves, who had just the single dab on section 3 to take second place on 1 and in third was Dave Pickering on his Bantam who lost 5 marks. Smiles all round then which was nice to see.

Clubman Twinshock next and an ever improving Martin Rickman lost just 3 marks on his Ossa to win his class closely followed by Andy Wright on his Beamish Suzuki on 8 with Roger Cockburn, Montesa, nipping at his heels on 9. Closely fought as it should be guys.

Clubman Pre 95 Air Cooled Mono saw Paul Sheldon take his first class win with us on his TY250 with a score of 15 marks 13 of which was lost on section 3. In second place was ex East Midlands Centre Champion Barrie K Rodgers also on his TY250 scoring 27 and section 3 was his nemesis too dropping 12 marks on that section alone. Either way its still great to see Barrie riding after all these years. Third place was the preserve of Mark Booth in his first season of trials on his Fantic and his score of 49 was still a good ride. Well done one and all.

That brings us to the final class Clubman over 50ís on Moderns and Championship leader Cliff Richards had another successful day on his Ossa to lose just 2 marks both on that tricky section 3 ahead of Anthony Harris on his Montesa who scored a respectable 8 along the way.

Thanks to everyone who turned out to support the club and hopefully we will see you at our next event at Stathams farm on November 26th start time is as usual 11.00am
